Job Description

KinderCare Education in New Port Richey is seeking a dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our vibrant team. As a Daycare Assistant, you will support lead teachers in daily classroom activities, ensure the safety and well-being of children, and assist in creating engaging educational experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
- Supervise children during playtime, meal times, and nap times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, diapering, and potty training.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily progress and needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Observe and document children's behavior and development as instructed by lead teachers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and encouraged.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Passion for working with young children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent
- Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting (volunteer or paid)
- Basic understanding of child development principles
- Enrollment in an early childhood education program
