Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Part-time School Cleaner to join our facilities team, focusing on weekend deep cleaning. This stable position is vital for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our school buildings, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in contributing to the well-being of our school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive deep cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces, on weekends.
- Sanitize and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to prevent the spread of germs.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors thoroughly, ensuring all areas are free of dust and debris.
- Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, to a high standard of hygiene.
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines regarding the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs for replenishment.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of cleaning products, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of previous cleaning or custodial experience, preferably in a school or commercial setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and sanitation.
- Experience with various cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, carpet cleaners).
