Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Podiatry Assistant to join our busy office in Gilbert, AZ. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize instruments according to established protocols.
  • Assist podiatrists during patient examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Take and accurately record patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints.
  • Educate patients on foot health, post-operative care instructions, and prescribed treatments.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow efficiently, and handle administrative tasks as needed to support clinic operations.
  • Process and document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies, alerting staff to reorder needs to ensure continuous availability.
  • Perform basic wound care and apply dressings under the direct supervision of a podiatrist.
  • Provide empathetic support and clear, concise communication to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A strong desire to learn and develop clinical skills in podiatry.
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a medical office or healthcare setting (e.g., medical assistant, receptionist).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to podiatry.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA).
