Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Smart Home Audio Annotator to join our remote team. This is a part-time, home-based task position where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the accuracy and performance of Google’s smart home AI systems. Your primary responsibility will be to listen to and annotate audio data, contributing directly to the improvement of voice recognition, natural language understanding, and overall smart home device functionality. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently to meet quality and productivity targets. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your home in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately listen to and transcribe various audio segments related to smart home interactions.
  • Categorize and tag audio events, commands, and environmental sounds according to specific guidelines.
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in existing audio annotations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve annotation guidelines and tools.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality and consistency across all assigned tasks.
  • Manage workload efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets.

Required Skills

  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills in English (US).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using web-based tools and applications.
  • Familiarity with smart home devices, virtual assistants, or voice-activated technology.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home-based environment.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet workspace.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in data annotation, transcription, or linguistic analysis.
