Job Description

Guitar Center Lessons in Antioch, CA is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Drum Teacher to join our high-energy studio team for afternoon shifts. We are looking for an inspiring instructor who can engage students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced players, in private and group settings. You will be responsible for developing personalized lesson plans, tracking student progress, and maintaining a vibrant, positive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Develop customized lesson plans that cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and high-energy learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.
  • Participate in studio events, recitals, and promotional activities as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of teaching spaces and equipment.
  • Adhere to Guitar Center Lessons curriculum guidelines while personalizing instruction.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in various drumming styles (e.g., rock, jazz, funk, pop).
  • Strong understanding of drum theory, rhythm, and technique.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience with proven student progress.
  • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Music Performance or Music Education.
  • Prior experience teaching in a formal music school or studio setting.
  • Experience with music technology and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Performance experience in a band or as a solo artist.
  • Ability to teach multiple instruments beyond drums.
