Job Description
Are you a motivated student looking for a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment? Werner Enterprises is seeking enthusiastic Student Warehouse Hands to join our Omaha team for loading and unloading operations. This part-time role is perfect for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of performing physical tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods, contributing directly to our operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight by hand or using basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Sort, stack, and organize materials in designated warehouse areas.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against paperwork for accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and quality checks as needed.
- Operate in a team setting to achieve daily productivity goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational status or issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be enrolled in high school or a higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manual labor role.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (if not currently enrolled).
