Job Description
Join the Wescana Inn team as a Resort Operations & Guest Experience Intern for the summer season! This hands-on internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across various facets of resort management, with a strong focus on enhancing the guest journey. You will work closely with department heads, contributing to daily operations, special projects, and ensuring every guest leaves with a positive and lasting impression. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of various departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and recreation.
- Support the guest services team in check-in/check-out procedures, concierge services, and resolving guest inquiries or issues.
- Actively engage with guests to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and personalize their experience.
- Participate in the planning and execution of guest activities, events, and entertainment programs.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency across the resort.
- Learn and apply property management systems and other relevant hospitality software.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless inter-departmental communication and service delivery.
- Assist with administrative tasks, reporting, and data collection as needed to support management decisions.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related degree program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, during the summer season.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience (even part-time or volunteer).
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera or similar.
- Ability to speak French or another additional language.
- Passion for the tourism and hospitality industry and a genuine interest in guest satisfaction.
