Job Description

We are seeking a highly dedicated and resilient Crime Scene Cleaner to join our specialized team, focusing on public sector contracts in the Geelong region. This critical role involves the meticulous and sensitive cleaning and remediation of various sites following traumatic incidents, ensuring public health and safety standards are met. The successful candidate will work under demanding conditions, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols, and demonstrating exceptional discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive biohazard remediation and sanitization of crime scenes and traumatic incident sites.
  • Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous waste, following strict regulatory guidelines (e.g., EPA, WorkSafe Victoria).
  • Utilize specialized cleaning agents, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) effectively.
  • Document all cleaning and remediation activities accurately and thoroughly.
  • Interact professionally and compassionately with affected individuals and agencies as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements for health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times regarding incident details and affected parties.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in crime scene remediation.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to follow strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically under pressure.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call and emergency call-outs.
  • Emotional resilience and a professional demeanor in challenging environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in biohazard remediation, hazmat cleanup, or a related specialized cleaning field.
  • Certifications in biohazard cleanup, bloodborne pathogens, or hazardous waste handling.
  • Experience working on government or public sector contracts.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
