Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Petroleum Engineer to join our dynamic team in Leeds. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization and development of our upstream assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in reservoir engineering, production optimization, and well intervention, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex oil and gas environments. You will be instrumental in identifying and implementing strategies to enhance hydrocarbon recovery and improve operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reservoir performance analysis, decline curve analysis, and material balance calculations.
- Develop and optimize well completion designs, including artificial lift systems.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify opportunities for enhancement and problem-solving.
- Design and oversee well intervention programs, including workovers, stimulations, and logging operations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (geoscientists, drilling engineers, facilities engineers) to achieve project objectives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and economic evaluations for proposed projects.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with company safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Utilize simulation software to model reservoir behavior and predict future performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in petroleum engineering roles within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, IPM).
- Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid properties, and rock mechanics.
- Experience with production optimization techniques and well performance analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience with unconventional resources or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
- Project management experience.
- Professional engineering certification (e.g., CEng).
