Job Description
Are you passionate about pets and eager to help pet parents make informed nutritional choices? Pet Valu in Corner Brook is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Pet Food Store Nutritional Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for pet nutrition, providing personalized advice and product recommendations that cater to the unique needs of each pet. Beyond nutrition, you will contribute to all aspects of store operations, including retail sales, merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nutritional advice and product recommendations for a variety of pet species and dietary needs.
- Assist customers with product selection, ensuring a positive and informative shopping experience.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
- Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and inventory levels.
- Actively participate in ongoing product training and stay up-to-date on pet industry trends.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously.
- Promote loyalty programs and special promotions to customers.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for animals and their well-being.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven retail sales experience, preferably in a pet-related environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with POS systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience or certification in pet nutrition or animal health.
- Knowledge of various pet food brands, ingredients, and dietary restrictions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with inventory management and merchandising.
