Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Wind Turbine Technicians / Engineers to join our dynamic team in Maidstone, Kent. You will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine systems, ensuring optimal performance and contribution to sustainable energy generation. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis to identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic malfunctions.
- Execute complex component replacements and upgrades, adhering to strict safety protocols and technical specifications.
- Complete comprehensive documentation for all maintenance activities, fault reports, and operational logs.
- Collaborate effectively with site management, engineering teams, and other technicians to ensure efficient operation.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent service requests as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and trainees.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or a relevant engineering background.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems within wind turbines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various wind farm locations.
- Commitment to working safely at heights and in confined spaces.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical degree, diploma, or certification in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certification (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival).
- Experience with specific turbine manufacturers (e.g., Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE).
- Familiarity with SCADA systems for monitoring and control.
- Previous experience working in the UK or with international teams.
