Job Description
Are you a creative individual with a passion for online trends, social media, and captivating content? BuzzFeed is looking for a Weekend Content Creator to join our remote team. This part-time role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced digital environment and can consistently produce engaging material from the comfort of their home. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing content ideas that resonate with our diverse audience, primarily across social media platforms, during weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate innovative and trending content ideas aligned with BuzzFeed’s brand voice and target audience.
- Create short-form videos, memes, articles, quizzes, or social media posts for various platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).
- Monitor social media for trending topics, conversations, and emerging content formats relevant to BuzzFeed's editorial strategy.
- Collaborate with the broader content team to ensure consistency and quality across all outputs.
- Utilize analytics to understand content performance and adapt strategies for improved engagement.
- Adhere to editorial guidelines, deadlines, and brand safety standards for all published content.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated creativity and a strong understanding of internet culture and viral content.
- Proficiency with major social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
- Basic knowledge of content creation tools (e.g., video editing apps, graphic design software like Canva).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience creating content for a digital publication or personal brand.
- A portfolio or links to previously published content.
