Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Box Truck Driver to join our team in North Bottoms, Lincoln, NE. This is a full-time, on-site position with a consistent Monday-Friday, day shift schedule. As a Warehouse Box Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations, as well as assisting with essential warehouse operations. This role requires a professional demeanor, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to manage both driving and physical warehouse tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck for local deliveries and pickups, following established routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) or by hand, ensuring items are secured properly.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, maintaining accurate records of vehicle condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and address any issues.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including but not limited to inventory management, order picking, packing, and organizing goods.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Ryder professionally.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Punctuality and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (2+ years) as a box truck driver or similar commercial driving role.
- Experience with material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with Lincoln, NE and surrounding delivery areas.
