Job Description
Join UPS as a Paramedic Trainee with an on-site safety focus in Downtown Cincinnati. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about emergency medical care and workplace safety. You will receive comprehensive training to become a vital part of our on-site health and safety team, providing immediate medical assistance and contributing to a secure work environment for all employees. This position is crucial for maintaining our high safety standards and ensuring the well-being of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all required training programs to achieve full paramedic certification and competence.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and injuries within the UPS facility, providing immediate basic and advanced life support.
- Conduct initial assessment of patient conditions and administer appropriate medical treatment under supervision.
- Document all medical incidents, treatments, and patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist in maintaining and stocking medical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for emergencies.
- Support the implementation of health and safety protocols, including first aid station management.
- Collaborate with the safety team to identify potential hazards and contribute to preventative safety measures.
- Provide basic health and wellness advice to employees as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, medical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state-issued Driver's License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emergency environment
- Commitment to learning and professional development in paramedicine
- Physical ability to perform duties typical of a paramedic, including lifting and standing for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an EMT Basic or Advanced
- Enrollment in or completion of a recognized Paramedic program
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
