Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in the automotive industry? Kwik Fit in Maidstone is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Tyre Fitter Assistant to join our dynamic team. This entry-level mechanical role is perfect for individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive training and a clear path for professional growth. You will support our experienced technicians, learn the ropes of tyre fitting, vehicle maintenance, and customer service in a fast-paced workshop environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Tyre Fitters with all aspects of tyre replacement and repair.
- Learn to remove, fit, balance, and repair tyres safely and efficiently.
- Support general workshop duties, including maintaining cleanliness and organisation.
- Conduct basic vehicle checks and report findings to senior technicians.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Assist with stock management and workshop equipment maintenance.
- Shadow and learn from senior technicians, absorbing practical knowledge and best practices.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full training provided.
- A strong willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills.
- Excellent work ethic and a proactive approach.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving heavy items.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or a keen interest in learning them.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- A genuine interest in the automotive industry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience (e.g., car maintenance as a hobby).
- Customer service experience (any field).
- Full UK driving licence (not essential but beneficial).
