Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Rhubarb Harvesters to join our agricultural team in the Bradford region. This role involves both indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring the successful cultivation and harvesting of rhubarb for our supermarket supply chain. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to rhubarb production, from careful picking in fields and polytunnels to sorting and packing within our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring we maintain our high standards of fresh produce quality. Experience is not essential as full training will be provided, but a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually harvest rhubarb stalks with precision and care, both in open fields and controlled indoor environments (polytunnels, greenhouses).
- Assess rhubarb quality during harvesting, ensuring only suitable produce is picked and handled.
- Trim, clean, and prepare rhubarb for packing according to company standards.
- Assist with sorting, grading, and packing harvested rhubarb into designated containers.
- Operate basic farm machinery or equipment as required, after appropriate training.
- Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily harvesting targets.
- Be prepared to work in various weather conditions when working outdoors.

- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural harvesting or similar manual labour roles.

- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport (due to varied field locations).
- Fluency in English.
