Job Description

Are you looking for an easy and engaging summer job? Prairie Pools Inc. is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Swimming Pool Water Testers / Monitors. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has an eye for detail, and wants to contribute to community well-being. You will be responsible for visiting various pools, collecting water samples, performing basic chemical tests, and ensuring all parameters meet health and safety standards. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those with no prior experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to various residential and commercial pool locations within Medicine Hat.
  • Collect water samples from swimming pools and spas.
  • Perform routine chemical tests on water samples (e.g., pH, chlorine, alkalinity).
  • Accurately record test results and observations.
  • Monitor pool conditions for cleanliness and safety hazards.
  • Report any significant issues or deviations from standards to a supervisor.
  • Maintain testing equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company protocols.
  • Communicate politely and professionally with clients when necessary.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage a schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring data collection or monitoring (even if not pool-related).
  • CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Experience using basic testing equipment.
