Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. This is an immediate opening offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists to provide excellent patient care and maintain efficient pharmacy operations. Your responsibilities will include preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and interacting directly with patients to provide exceptional service. We are looking for someone who is committed to accuracy, customer satisfaction, and continuous learning in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and fill prescription orders under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Assist patients with prescription pick-up, answer common questions, and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate pharmacy computer systems to input patient information, process insurance claims, and maintain records.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage patient co-payments.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification in Kansas (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and basic office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
- Experience with CVS Health pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Prior experience managing medication inventory and ordering.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) is a plus.
