Job Description
Join the Hy-Vee team as a Supermarket Cart Pusher! This active outdoor role is perfect for individuals who enjoy being on the move and contributing to a smooth shopping experience for our valued customers. You will be responsible for ensuring our parking lot and store entrances are tidy and that shopping carts are readily available, clean, and safe for use. Key Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from designated areas in the parking lot and store perimeter.
- Transport carts safely and efficiently back into the store.
- Ensure carts are clean and in good working condition.
- Organize carts neatly in the store's designated cart corrals and entrance areas.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the parking lot and store entrance.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers as needed, such as locating items or loading groceries.
- Report any damaged carts or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Work effectively in varying outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including pushing and pulling heavy loads of carts for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is a plus, but not required.
