Job Description

The Pasco School District is seeking a diligent and organized Student Office Clerk for a part-time position. This role is ideal for a high school student looking to gain valuable office experience in a professional, educational setting. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of our school office during afternoon hours. This is an on-site position requiring consistent attendance Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and route calls.
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, and other clerical tasks.
  • Support staff with various administrative projects as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office area.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in high school.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office, retail, or customer service environment (volunteer or paid).
  • Familiarity with school administrative processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
