Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Sitter to provide excellent care for children in private family homes within the Cambridge, MA area. This role requires availability during both morning and afternoon slots, offering flexibility while ensuring consistent support for families. As a sitter, you will engage children in age-appropriate activities, assist with daily routines, and ensure their safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for children in various age groups.
  • Engage children in educational and recreational activities, fostering a positive and stimulating environment.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary guidelines are followed.
  • Oversee nap times and bedtime routines as needed.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities and any pertinent observations.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized play area.
  • Follow specific instructions provided by parents for each child's care.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 months of verifiable childcare experience (e.g., babysitting, nannying, daycare assistant).
  • Ability to build rapport with children and create a fun, safe environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience with various age groups, from infants to school-aged children.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education or child development.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
