Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aide to provide essential care to patients during night shifts within a secure facility setting in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio, TX. This vital role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining a clean and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, empathetic, and possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, thriving in a structured and secure environment. This position offers a night shift differential to compensate for evening hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting during night hours.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed.
- Help patients with feeding and ensure adequate hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Adhere strictly to facility policies and procedures, especially regarding security protocols.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a sense of comfort and security.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and needs, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or CNA license in Texas
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare setting, preferably home health or long-term care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to adhere to strict protocols and procedures within a secure facility.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working night shifts in a secure facility or hospital setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
