Job Description
Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for sales and a desire to build your own book of business? C.H. Robinson is seeking a Remote Freight Broker Agent to join our dynamic team. In this work-from-home role, you will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and managing relationships with new and existing customers, identifying their freight transportation needs, and connecting them with our vast network of carriers. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new clients through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their shipping needs and providing exceptional service.
- Negotiate freight rates with both customers and carriers to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and efficient pickup and delivery of goods.
- Manage all aspects of the freight shipping process, from initial booking to delivery, proactively resolving any issues that may arise.
- Utilize C.H. Robinson's proprietary technology and tools to track shipments, manage documentation, and optimize logistics solutions.
- Stay informed of market trends, industry regulations, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Provide regular updates and transparent communication to customers regarding their shipments.
Required Skills
- Proven sales or customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of self-motivation, discipline, and drive to succeed.
- Resilience and persistence in sales development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in freight brokering, transportation, or logistics sales.
- Existing book of business or strong network in the transportation industry.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS).
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
