Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Remote Apple Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our global team. This critical role involves ensuring that IBM’s use of Apple products, platforms, and services, both internally and in client-facing solutions, adheres to all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in compliance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and the Apple ecosystem. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Central time zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures specifically related to Apple hardware, software, and services (e.g., iOS, macOS, iPadOS, tvOS, Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager).
- Monitor changes in global and regional regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001) that impact Apple device usage, data handling, and app development within the enterprise.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify and mitigate compliance vulnerabilities related to Apple technologies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams (Legal, IT, Security, Product Development) on compliance matters concerning Apple ecosystem integration and deployment.
- Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations pertaining to Apple-related compliance.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure all relevant employees understand their compliance obligations concerning Apple devices and data.
- Stay abreast of Apple's evolving enterprise features, security updates, and compliance initiatives to proactively adapt internal policies.
- Collaborate with vendor management to ensure third-party applications and services used with Apple devices meet IBM's compliance standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role, with at least 2 years focusing on technology or mobile device compliance.
- Demonstrable knowledge of major regulatory frameworks and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- In-depth understanding of the Apple ecosystem, including iOS, macOS, Apple Business Manager, and security features.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex compliance requirements to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Compliance certification (e.g., CCEP, CIPP/US, CIPP/E).
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions for Apple devices (e.g., Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) in relation to mobile endpoints.
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
