Job Description

PwC is seeking a diligent and organised Post Room Operative to join our busy Canary Wharf office. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling, sorting, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and internal communications. You will ensure that all items are processed accurately and delivered promptly, supporting the smooth operation of our professional services environment. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to maintaining an organised post room.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail, parcels, and deliveries to relevant departments and individuals.
  • Collect and process outgoing mail, including franking, packaging, and arranging courier services.
  • Manage internal mail circulation efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing items, including tracking registered mail and packages.
  • Operate and maintain post room equipment such as franking machines, scanners, and mail sorters.
  • Ensure the post room is kept tidy, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks and office support as required.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Required Skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy (e.g., email, record-keeping software).
  • Physical ability to lift and move mail bags and packages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a post room, mailroom, or similar administrative support role.
  • Familiarity with postal services and courier operations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to office environments.
