Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Pharmacy Delivery Driver to join our team in Swansea. This role involves the safe and timely delivery of prescriptions and other essential pharmaceutical items to our customers’ homes. As a vital link between our pharmacy and the community, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive their medications efficiently and courteously. This is a light work role, focusing on local area deliveries, ensuring ease and manageability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently deliver prescription medications and other items to designated addresses within the local Swansea area.
  • Verify patient identity and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery, adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Handle medications with care, ensuring they remain secure and at appropriate temperatures during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, providing excellent service.
  • Report any delivery issues or customer feedback promptly to the pharmacy team.
  • Ensure the company vehicle (if provided) is maintained, clean, and roadworthy, or maintain your own vehicle to a high standard.
  • Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with light administrative tasks or parcel preparation during downtime, if required.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent knowledge of local Swansea roads and surrounding areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A positive and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a delivery or courier role, especially within a healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations or medical terminology.
  • Experience using navigation apps and route optimisation tools.
