Job Description

Are you a recent graduate eager to launch your career in the energy sector? ConocoPhillips is offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Integrity Associate within our New Graduate Program for 2024. This program is designed to provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in ensuring the reliability and safety of critical mechanical equipment in our operations. You will gain exposure to a wide range of assets, from pipelines to processing units, while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians. This role is crucial for maintaining operational excellence and upholding the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of mechanical integrity programs for various static and rotating equipment.
  • Conduct data analysis of inspection results, equipment performance, and failure trends to identify potential risks.
  • Support the planning and execution of equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Learn and apply industry codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., API, ASME) related to mechanical integrity.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures and contribute to corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, and reliability engineers.
  • Contribute to risk-based inspection (RBI) assessments and integrity management system (IMS) development.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to mechanical integrity activities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, completed in 2023 or 2024.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and materials science.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., API 510, 570, 653, ASME B31.3).
  • Experience with data analysis software or tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through academic or extracurricular activities.
