Job Description
Are you creative, detail-oriented, and love working in a fun, fast-paced environment? Card Factory in Cambridge is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Weekend Balloon Inflator. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has excellent customer service skills, and is available to work during our busy weekend retail hours. No prior experience is necessary – we’ll provide all the training you need to become a balloon expert!
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently inflate latex and foil balloons using helium tanks.
- Create stunning balloon bouquets, arches, and custom displays according to customer requests and store standards.
- Ensure all balloons are of the highest quality, properly sealed, and free from defects.
- Assist customers with balloon selection, providing recommendations and creative ideas.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe balloon inflation station and storage area.
- Process customer transactions accurately using our POS system.
- Provide friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service during peak weekend periods.
- Adhere to all company policies and health and safety guidelines, particularly concerning helium handling.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a dynamic retail environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and product counts.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry moderate weights (e.g., helium tanks, balloon boxes).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
- Familiarity with balloon inflation equipment and techniques (training provided).
- A creative flair and passion for party decorations.
