Job Description
Are you a high school student looking for your first step into the exciting world of retail? Nordstrom in Scottsdale Fashion Square is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Part-time High School Sales Clerk, with a special focus on weekend shifts within our boutique departments. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop sales skills, and contribute to a dynamic retail environment. You’ll be instrumental in creating memorable shopping experiences for our customers, assisting them with selections, and maintaining the pristine presentation of our boutique areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, offering assistance and product recommendations.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with merchandising and maintaining visual standards within designated boutique areas, ensuring products are well-stocked and attractively displayed.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve minor issues, and direct complex questions to appropriate team members.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and fitting rooms.
- Support inventory management tasks, including receiving, tagging, and organizing merchandise.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales goals and uphold Nordstrom's reputation for excellent service.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused personality.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or a retail environment (even volunteer work).
- Interest in fashion, styling, or visual merchandising.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
