Job Description
Are you an aspiring music producer with a passion for innovation and a solid grasp of modern production techniques? Splice is seeking a Junior Music Producer to join our dynamic team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is an incredible opportunity to hone your craft, contribute to cutting-edge projects, and collaborate with talented engineers and artists within a fast-paced tech startup environment. You will be instrumental in creating and curating high-quality audio content, experimenting with new sounds, and supporting the development of innovative musical experiences for our global user base. We are looking for someone eager to learn, adapt, and bring fresh perspectives to our growing platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and mix high-quality audio content, including loops, samples, and original tracks, for the Splice platform.
- Collaborate with the sound design and engineering teams to integrate new sounds and production techniques.
- Assist in the curation and tagging of existing audio libraries to enhance user experience.
- Experiment with new software, hardware, and production workflows to identify innovative sonic possibilities.
- Provide creative input and technical support for various audio-related projects.
- Maintain organized project files and adhere to production deadlines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, production techniques, and music technology advancements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one major Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, or Pro Tools.
- Strong understanding of music theory, rhythm, and arrangement.
- Basic knowledge of audio engineering principles (mixing, mastering, sound design).
- Demonstrated ability to create original and engaging musical content.
- Familiarity with various music genres and production styles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong portfolio of personal music production work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with specific synthesizers, samplers, or effects plugins (e.g., Serum, Kontakt, FabFilter).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for audio projects.
- Experience with field recording and foley.
- Basic understanding of scripting or coding for audio (e.g., Max/MSP, Python for audio).
