Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Parcel Sorters & Pickers to join our night shift team at our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Kingston upon Hull. This role is crucial to our operation, ensuring that parcels are accurately sorted, scanned, and loaded for their next destination. Due to the critical nature of our overnight operations, this position comes with a high night shift differential, reflecting the importance of your contribution during these hours. You will be responsible for handling a variety of packages, maintaining a safe and efficient workspace, and collaborating with your team to meet daily targets. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort incoming and outgoing parcels based on destination codes.
- Load and unload parcels from vehicles, cages, and conveyor belts.
- Scan parcels efficiently using handheld scanning devices.
- Identify and report any damaged or misrouted packages.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Meet daily sorting and picking targets.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts.
- Physical fitness and capability to lift and move heavy parcels (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar fast-paced environment.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or warehouse management systems.
- Forklift certification (though not required for this specific role, it is a plus for internal mobility).
