Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Urban Policy Aide to join our Department of Community Development. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about local government, urban planning, and public policy, eager to contribute to the strategic development of Naperville. The successful candidate will provide essential support in policy research, inter-departmental coordination, and external liaison activities, focusing on building strong relationships with local government entities and community groups. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on urban policy initiatives, local ordinances, and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of policy briefs, reports, presentations, and other communication materials for city officials and community stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Department of Community Development and other city departments, community organizations, and external agencies.
  • Support the planning and execution of public engagement meetings, workshops, and civic events.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to policy development and implementation.
  • Help monitor legislative developments at local, state, and federal levels relevant to urban planning and community development.
  • Provide administrative support to senior policy staff as needed.
