Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain your commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport freight efficiently and on schedule across designated routes.
- Manage electronic logbook (ELD) entries accurately and maintain proper records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performing minor maintenance as needed.
- Ensure securement of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD compliance
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery deadlines
- Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- Experience with refrigerated (reefer) or specialized freight
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proven business management skills for an independent operation
- Ability to adapt to changing route conditions and schedules
