Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cattery Attendant to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible, casual shifts who have a genuine love for cats. As a Cattery Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and well-being of our feline guests, ensuring a comfortable and stimulating environment. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and animal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily feeding and fresh water to all feline guests according to established schedules and dietary needs.
  • Clean and sanitize cat enclosures, litter boxes, and common areas diligently.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of cats, reporting any concerns or changes to supervisors.
  • Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff or pet owners.
  • Engage with cats through play, petting, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and waste.
  • Assist with check-ins and check-outs of feline guests.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and animal handling guidelines are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and pet owners.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience handling and caring for cats (personal or professional).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cattery, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or pet boarding facility.
  • Knowledge of various cat breeds and their specific care needs.
  • Basic understanding of feline health indicators and common ailments.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for pets.
