Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Part-time Childcare Assistant with an Early Learning Focus to join our team in Reno, NV. In this role, you will support our lead teachers in implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for young children. You will play a crucial part in fostering a positive learning environment, assisting with daily routines, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children under our care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education and contribute to shaping young minds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily educational activities, arts and crafts, and play-based learning.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and participation.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Assist with meal times, nap times, and toileting/diapering as needed.
- Support children in developing social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Observe and report any concerns regarding children's development or well-being.
- Adhere to all licensing regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Genuine love for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (volunteer or paid) in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
- Enrollment in or completion of Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses.
