Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Mobile Vaccination Nurse to join our community outreach team in Mira Loma, California. This vital role involves administering vaccinations (including but not limited to flu, COVID-19, and routine immunizations) to diverse populations at various community sites, schools, and workplaces. You will play a crucial part in public health efforts, educating individuals about vaccine benefits, ensuring safe administration, and meticulously documenting all patient interactions. The ideal candidate is an independent, adaptable, and empathetic professional committed to expanding access to essential health services and fostering community well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines safely and efficiently according to established protocols, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Conduct pre-vaccination screening and post-vaccination monitoring, including health assessments and vital sign checks.
- Provide clear and concise education to patients and caregivers regarding vaccine procedures, potential side effects, and importance of immunization.
- Accurately document all vaccine administrations, patient information, and consent forms in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Travel to various community outreach locations within the Mira Loma and broader Jurupa Valley area, setting up and dismantling mobile clinics as needed.
- Manage vaccine inventory, ensuring proper storage, handling, and temperature control.
- Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality, and organizational policies.
- Respond to and manage any adverse reactions to vaccines, escalating as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and community partners to ensure smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in direct patient care, preferably with vaccination administration experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various community locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community health, public health, or mobile clinic settings.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) to serve our diverse community.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with a variety of immunization programs (e.g., pediatric, adult, travel vaccines).
