Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our clinical team as a Medical Narrator Assistant. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to start a career in healthcare, as comprehensive training will be provided. The Medical Narrator Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting our clinical operations by accurately transcribing and narrating medical information, ensuring precise and timely documentation. You will work closely with healthcare providers, capturing critical details from patient interactions and procedures. This role requires exceptional listening skills, a strong ability to focus, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data integrity. While prior medical experience is not required, a keen interest in clinical environments and a willingness to learn complex medical terminology are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend clinical sessions (e.g., patient visits, surgical procedures, diagnostic tests) alongside healthcare providers.
- Accurately narrate and transcribe real-time medical dictations, observations, and patient interactions into electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established medical, legal, and ethical standards, as well as UNC Health policies.
- Verify patient information and clinical data for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to facilitate seamless documentation workflows.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and medical records.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance medical terminology and documentation skills.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support clinical operations.
