Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and dedicated Medical Center Porter to join our boutique clinic in Ghent, Norfolk. The Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility, focusing on patient comfort, safety, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is meticulous, discreet, and committed to providing exceptional support in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and compassionately transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to various areas within the clinic, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Assist medical staff with patient transfers and mobility as required, following all safety protocols.
- Move equipment, supplies, and specimens between departments, adhering to established procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of common areas, patient rooms, and clinic facilities, including sanitizing surfaces and emptying waste bins.
- Ensure clinic areas are well-stocked with necessary supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Respond promptly to requests from medical staff and patients, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and clinic guidelines.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to visitors and patients, guiding them as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and order.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that include lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a porter or in a similar support role within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
