Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Office-Based Medical Billing Coding Trainee. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in the vital field of medical administration. You will receive comprehensive training in medical coding, billing procedures, and claims processing, ensuring you develop the skills necessary to contribute effectively to our operations. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to accuracy. The position is strictly office-based in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
Key Responsibilities
- Undergo comprehensive training in medical billing and coding principles, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Assist in the accurate and timely submission of medical claims to various insurers.
- Learn to review and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Support the team in resolving billing discrepancies and claim denials.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and financial information.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and process adherence.
- Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to stay current with industry changes and regulations.
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support the billing department.
Required Skills
