Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Associate to join our Upstream Operations team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of critical mechanical systems and components used in the energy sector’s upstream processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world challenges, supporting the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and solutions. You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects from conception through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems for upstream energy applications.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate designs and predict performance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical failures and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams to ensure design manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and operational support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and basic stress analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to the energy sector (e.g., ASME).
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in an industrial or upstream operations environment.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or process systems.
