Job Description
As a Human Trafficking Policy Aide with an International Safety Focus, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global advocacy efforts to combat human trafficking and ensure the safety of children worldwide. This position involves assisting in policy research, legislative monitoring, and the development of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening international frameworks and national responses to modern slavery. You will work closely with senior policy advisors, international partners, and government agencies to translate research into actionable recommendations and advocate for child protection policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on international human trafficking trends, policies, and best practices.
- Monitor legislative and policy developments related to child protection and anti-trafficking efforts in various countries.
- Assist in drafting policy briefs, reports, presentations, and advocacy materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and consultations with government officials, NGOs, and international bodies.
- Analyze data and provide insights to inform strategic policy recommendations and campaign development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs on child safety and anti-trafficking for field staff.
- Collaborate with communication teams to disseminate policy messages effectively to the public and media.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Human Rights, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated interest in international human rights, child protection, and anti-trafficking issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with policy analysis or advocacy within an NGO, government agency, or international organization.
- Familiarity with international human rights law and instruments related to child protection.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic).
- Experience with data analysis tools or policy modeling.
