Job Description
Are you a compassionate and empathetic individual looking to start a rewarding career in care? Bluebird Care Stockport is seeking dedicated Live-in Carers to join our growing team. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for those with little to no prior experience, as we provide comprehensive, fully paid training to equip you with all the skills you need. You will live with our customers, providing essential support and companionship, allowing them to maintain independence and dignity in their own homes. Full board and accommodation are provided whilst on assignment, ensuring your comfort and security. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, with dignity and respect.
- Administer medication as prescribed and record accurately.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids.
- Prepare nutritious meals and support with feeding.
- Perform light domestic duties, including cleaning, laundry, and tidying.
- Offer companionship and engage customers in activities and conversations.
- Accompany customers to appointments, social outings, or shopping.
- Monitor and report changes in the customer's health or well-being.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
- Communicate effectively with customers, their families, and the care management team.
Required Skills
- Genuine empathy and a caring nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A positive and resilient attitude.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping and medication administration.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A full UK driving licence is beneficial but not essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care setting (personal or professional) is a bonus but not required.
- First Aid qualification.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in an additional language.
