Job Description
Fairmont Banff Springs is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Landscaping Laborer to join our groundskeeping team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work and contributing to the pristine appearance of one of Canada’s most iconic destinations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our stunning gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain beautiful and welcoming for our guests year-round. We offer a high hourly rate for dedicated individuals committed to quality work on local projects right here at the resort. This is an on-site position where you’ll directly impact the beauty of our historic property.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and watering.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees, and assist with their ongoing care.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repairs.
- Participate in seasonal clean-up tasks, including leaf removal and snow clearing (winter months).
- Maintain pathways, patios, and other hardscape elements.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to company standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects on schedule.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of plant care and landscaping principles.
- Commitment to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related outdoor field.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna.
