Job Description

Starling Bank is looking for a Junior Swift Programmer to join our innovative remote team. This is a unique opportunity to kickstart your career by contributing to mission-critical mobile applications that impact millions. You’ll work closely with experienced developers, product managers, and designers, focusing on developing and enhancing features within our acclaimed mobile banking app, with a keen eye on App Store best practices and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy new features for our iOS applications using Swift and UIKit/SwiftUI.
- Collaborate with senior developers to understand project requirements and contribute to technical design discussions.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain high code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring optimal performance and stability of our apps.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Swift, iOS, and App Store ecosystem developments and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
- Work closely with QA to ensure the delivery of robust and bug-free software.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable proficiency in Swift programming language.
- Understanding of iOS app development fundamentals (e.g., UIKit, Auto Layout, MVC/MVVM patterns).
- Familiarity with the Xcode development environment.
- Basic understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed personal projects or contributions to open-source Swift/iOS projects.
- Familiarity with SwiftUI framework.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
- Knowledge of unit testing and UI testing principles.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
