Job Description
Oracle is seeking a highly motivated Junior Database Engineer with a strong focus on SQL to join our dynamic AI Data team in San Francisco. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development, maintenance, and optimization of our data infrastructure, specifically focusing on databases that power our artificial intelligence initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and schemas supporting AI applications.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
- Assist in data modeling, database design, and capacity planning activities.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to understand data requirements and implement robust solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving database development standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL (querying, stored procedures, functions).
- Familiarity with relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Basic understanding of database design principles (normalization, indexing).
- Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud database services (e.g., Oracle Autonomous Database, AWS RDS, Azure SQL DB).
