Job Description

This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamentals of audio production, editing, and broadcasting from seasoned professionals. You’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, contributing to various projects across our local stations and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior audio engineers and producers with daily tasks, including setup and teardown of equipment.
- Learn to operate audio mixing consoles, microphones, and other studio equipment under supervision.
- Support the recording, editing, and mixing of audio content for broadcast, podcasts, and digital platforms.
- Organize and maintain audio archives, ensuring easy access to sound libraries and project files.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and report issues to technical staff.
- Assist with studio upkeep, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
- Shadow producers and engineers to understand workflow and best practices in audio production.
- Contribute creative ideas during production meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for audio, music, and broadcasting.
- Excellent active listening and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows/Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite).
- High level of enthusiasm, proactivity, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 25 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Some familiarity with audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition).
- Basic understanding of sound principles or acoustics.
- Experience with recording music or podcasts as a hobby.
- Enrollment in or completion of a relevant certificate program or coursework in audio/media.
