Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Hops Picker to join our traditional brewery support team in Harrogate. This vital role involves assisting with various aspects of our brewing process, with a particular focus on the careful selection, sorting, and preparation of hops. You will play a hands-on part in maintaining the quality and integrity of our ingredients, ensuring every pint of Black Sheep beer meets our high standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys manual work, has an eye for detail, and is eager to learn about traditional brewing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carefully pick and sort hops by hand, ensuring only the highest quality are selected for brewing.
  • Inspect hops for quality, freshness, and any signs of damage or impurities.
  • Assist with the weighing and packaging of hops for storage and use.
  • Support the wider brewery team with general tasks, including cleaning, tidying, and maintaining a hygienic work environment.
  • Help with the movement and organization of raw materials and finished products.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and brewery procedures.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding hop quality or equipment to the supervisor.
