Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Tally Clerk Porter with a strong focus on records and logistics to join our Nottingham team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately tallying and documenting incoming and outgoing goods, safely moving items within our facility, and maintaining impeccable records to support our operational efficiency. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will be crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of parcels and mail through our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count, weigh, and record all incoming and outgoing goods, parcels, and mail.
- Safely transport items using manual lifting equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, trolleys) or by hand, as required, within the sorting facility.
- Verify quantities against manifests, invoices, or other documentation, noting any discrepancies.
- Maintain precise and organised records of all movements, including digital and physical logs.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock control procedures.
- Ensure all items are handled with care to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Prepare items for dispatch or storage, ensuring correct labelling and packaging.
- Report any damaged goods or operational issues to the supervisor promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving items regularly.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record maintenance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
