Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respite Care Aide for casual weekend work to provide much-needed relief to primary caregivers. This is an immediate hire opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting families and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for clients in their homes. As a Respite Care Aide, you will offer temporary, short-term care, allowing family caregivers time to rest, attend to personal needs, or simply recharge. This role is perfect for those looking for flexible weekend hours and a chance to make a significant positive impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate companionship and supervision to clients.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, as needed.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities like reading, games, light walks, or conversation.
  • Ensure client safety and comfort at all times.
  • Assist with light household tasks directly related to client care (e.g., tidying client's room, laundry related to client).
  • Administer medication reminders as per care plan.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client's condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for the client.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions diligently.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic understanding of client safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Completion of a caregiver training program or CNA certification.
