Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Apple Pickers to join our team for the upcoming harvest season. This is a crucial role within our operations, responsible for carefully hand-picking apples to ensure the highest quality produce. You will work as part of a vibrant team in our extensive orchards, contributing directly to the success of our harvest. This physically demanding but rewarding role offers an opportunity to work outdoors, learn about agricultural processes, and contribute to supplying fresh fruit to thousands of homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently pick apples from trees according to quality standards and picking instructions.
- Handle fruit with care to prevent bruising and damage.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily picking targets.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area within the orchard.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
- Report any issues with fruit quality, tree health, or equipment to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and extended periods of standing/walking.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (rain or shine).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in fruit picking, horticulture, or agricultural work is an advantage but not essential.
- Basic understanding of fruit quality indicators.
- Access to reliable transport to and from the orchard location.
